Rooted in Tradition.
Driven by Soul.
“Every thread carries the memory of an artisan, and the beating heart of India.”

In a World of Fast Mass-Production,
We Chose the Human Touch
Dhaga India was born from a profound journey through rural India’s heartlands. Traveling across artisan hamlets in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, and Rajasthan, our founder Garima Sharma witnessed an alarming paradox: master craftswomen possessed generational genius that took centuries to refine, yet their crafts were suffocated by industrial plastic imitations and unfair middlemen.
Young daughters of master weavers were abandoning the loom because it could no longer sustain their families. These weren’t just lost manufacturing skills—they were living cultural prayers, songs of harvest, and intimate connections to natural fibers slipping away forever.
“We realized traditional crafts don’t belong in dusty museums or occasional souvenir stalls. They belong on our dining tables, in our entryways, and in our daily conscious rituals.”
Dhaga India was founded to dismantle the exploitative supply chain. By providing fair wages upfront, dignity of work, modern aesthetic curation, and pan-India reach, we have enabled over 1,200 rural women to become the primary breadwinners of their households.
The Principles That Guide Every Stitch
Every decision we make honors the artisan, respects the earth, and preserves India’s living cultural heritage.
Zero Factories, 100% Handcrafted
Every curve, weave, and chisel stroke is touched by a human hand. We deliberately reject mass assembly lines in favor of patient, soulful craft.
Direct Artisan Dignity & Upfront Pay
By eliminating predatory middlemen, our craftswomen receive fair living wages paid directly into their personal bank accounts, fostering true financial autonomy.
Earth-Conscious & Zero Plastic
From biodegradable wild river grasses to unbleached organic cotton and plastic-free kraft packaging, sustainability is our core foundation, not a marketing buzzword.
Preserving Generational Heritage
We make traditional crafts economically viable for the next generation, preventing ancient cultural knowledge from vanishing into forgotten history.
Our Artisan Clusters Across India
Each craft is deeply tied to its indigenous flora, soil minerals, and generational memory

“Before Dhaga India, our weaving was seasonal, and middlemen paid us a pittance. Today, over 40 women in our village have bank accounts in our own names. We are no longer dependent; we are proud artists whose creations travel across India.”
